Cluster architecture for the use of big data:

In today’s world our interactions, both economic and social, take digital form on a daily basis. In the era of cheaper and faster mobile communication, the constantly growing number of devices with network access (IoT), new applications and digital services, and the upcoming broadband communication standards (such as the 5G network), the statutory obligation related to data retention is an increasing challenge for telecommunications operators technological and economic. Contrary to other solutions available on the market, the SWORD system was created based on the cluster architecture – a mesh of several to several hundred processing nodes, collecting and providing retention data, depending on the requirements. SWORD allows you to connect units of different performance and capacity, through proportional distribution of the operating load. It also supports Blade type architecture.

Easy expansion - safe cost planning:

One of the features resulting from the main design assumptions of the SWORD system is its easy and quick adaptation to changing requirements. SWORD largely disregards the format of the processed data, and as a consequence, it enables efficient implementation of new retention sources without the need to reconstruct the already existing components. The SWORD system, due to its architecture, can be easily expanded with new nodes – each of the potential nodes is subjected to benchmarking in order to determine its expected performance in a possible role of a node in a cluster. Thanks to this, expansion planning becomes much simpler and more reliable because the expansion can be carried out gradually, based on reliable indicators.

The speed of access to data:

An important parameter during operational activities of the services, there is access to the most up-to-date data. The SWORD system makes the collected data available immediately. All operations that enable efficient search take place when the data is loaded into the system. The data remains permanently available (subject to statutory access rules and resulting restrictions) throughout the retention cycle.

Low maintenance cost:

Many years of experience gained with leading telecommunications operators in the development of retention systems made us realize how important the economic factor is. When building the SWORD system, we set ourselves as one of the main goals to dramatically reduce the total cost of a unit of information retained in the system. Thanks to this, the SWORD system, in addition to proprietary Intrasoft-TSI solutions, is based on modern technologies that do not require license fees. SWORD can also be installed on units already operating in the infrastructure of a telecommunications operator. The above solutions contribute to a significant reduction in the total cost, but the most important factor, especially taking into account the so-called economies of scale is the use of efficient compression algorithms. All data collected and shared data are compressed, which directly translates into savings in infrastructure expenses, ranging from several to several dozen percent, making the SWORD system also in terms of costs – a highly competitive solution.
